I am new to the site and am not sure if I am even posting in the correct spot. I recently picked up an old George Mathews banjo,has the star stamp on the back of the headstock. A beautiful fretless neck and the oddest body. It is all metal with the tension screws inside the ring. There is a patent stamp that say "Muddiman's Patent". The outside of the pot is nicely engraved, it really is a pretty unique peice. It has the serial # 64 stamp on the inside wood support. If anyone has any info on a banjo similar to this I would love to hear about it. I could send some pics but have not figured out how to do so!
