Instrument maker friend build me a banjo out of parts he had laying around in 1977. Started with the Pete Seeger book and floppy vinyl record, playing frailing style. After a year or so, put the banjo aside. Got the bug again in 2005 and have been playing Scruggs style ever since. I occasionally take lessons with Glenn Nelson of Mockingbird Music in Berlin, MA and more recently study with Rich Stillman. Have a tenor banjo but haven't done much with it.
