48 Hour Jam, central Illinois

The Community Center for the Arts will soon be hosting our second annual 48-hour string band jam.
The event will be on the first floor at C4A, at the corner of Main and Race, downtown Urbana, under the Bright blue awning (entrances at 202 West Main and 103 N. Race, Urbana.)
 
Kickoff potatoes are at 6PM, Friday, June 10.
Final shave-and-a-haircut: 6PM, Sunday, June 12.
 
• open to string band musicians of all ages and stripes.
• There will be stretches of pure old-time trance, most likely in the wee hours. The fun time.
• There will be young fiddlers, guitar players, accordionists, etc. who need a little guidance, especially in the afternoon and early evening.
• The music never stops.

I have been teaching guitar and banjo for about 30 years, and have played professionally for most of that time. I give lessons and direct ensembles at the Community Center for the Arts, in Urbana, Illinois. I am also an ethnomusicologist, on the faculty at Illinois State University.
