Favorite Bands/Musicians:
I can't pick a favorite. There are too many. * Finding Donald Zepp's website (by accident!) is what got me really going. He's my hero. Well, him and Willy Wonka.
*Clawhammer is it. All other styles are really just punk rock. What... I can't have an opinion?

I don't count my first banjo experience as when I started. It was 1995, three finger, and short lived. I'm a fairly quick study, for a goofball. * I took piano lessons when I was in the 2nd and 3rd grade, but quit when I got tired of all that practicing business, then the trumpet from 5th to 9th, but quit the band when we were gonna have to start marching at football games. I'm not a marcher. I started playing guitar in the 7th grade, with big plans of being a rock star. That didn't pan out so well, but we ROCKED my mom's garage, as well as many others, a wedding (It was the singer's), and a few parties. Go Heavy Metal!!! * When I was in the 9th grade, my folks agreed to paying for guitar lessons. I was lucky enough to take frome a fella named Bill Gustin. I don't know what ever happened to him, but I'd sure like to see him again. He's a lefty. Anyway, had I known he was a Jazz teacher when I signed up, I never would have. I'm really glad I didn't know, because he opened my ears to a really cool world. I ended up in a few school stage bands, one of which, at Grover Cleavland Innovative H.S., a public school of the arts. It's closed now, but I feel really fortunate to have played whith those kids. We were small, tight, and REALLY good. I think that was as close to my 15 minutes as I'm gonna get. I'll gladly take it. * I got into old time music from Civil War intrests, which led to mountain music. I can handle about an hour of blugrass a day, but after that my head starts to spin off. Too fast, or loud, or busy. I have the same medical problem with Gaelic music. Did I spell that right? Funny, coming from a former heavy metal-superstar-wannabe. * Anybody wanna go for coffee?
