I'm Alex Nemet, and I build open-back banjos for old-time and clawhammer music at Fundy Banjos, a small workshop in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia.
My instruments come out of years of playing, listening and hands-on work, with close attention to tone, playability and feel. I build a couple of models in small batches, the Tidal and the High Tide, and I also take on bespoke builds developed one at a time with the player.
I also made Fundy Tuner, a free tuner app for clawhammer and old-time players, with old-time tunings, capo transposition and a bridge setup tool. It's on Android and iPhone (through TestFlight).
