Started with brass band instruments in grade school and middle school. Picked up guitar and harmonica in college, then fiddle and mandolin in my early 30's. And finally got around to open back banjo 10 years later. Have played in various string bands through the years and continue to perform in a much looser form today. Dabble a bit in instrument repair/restoration.
