Good lesson.

Friday, February 12, 2010

I had a really good lesson today.  My teacher was very complimentary.  But also quick to notice things that needed work.  I love how he is teaching me everything from the ground up.  I really want to know the hows and they whys.  He was very pleased, when I played "Banjo in the Hollow" and "Cripple Creek" for him, that I was being very steady, and pretty damn clean.  He always pounds that into my head.  He helped me with some timing issues I was having.  I guess I had not figured out how timing works when reading tab.  Basically the same as in written music.  I only barely read written music, and only for vocal work.  But I am feeling a lot better about rhythm and timing now.  Good lessons are such a wonderful feeling!
