Wondering if anyone has played, or owns one of these Gol Tone Tubaphone longnecks. Specifically, how they measure up compared to the original Vega PS and the newer Deering model. Any help would be appreciated. Mahalo, PH

	DublinLongNeck1993 says: 9/18/2026 12:23:40 AM Hi folks, I owned both the OT800 LN and my current Deering Vega Long Neck at one point. The OT800 has a stainless steel Tubaphone tone ring and a Renaissance banjo head. It packed more volume in comparison to the Deering Vega. It also had more sustain in the volume which I put down to the banjo head. And of course Gold Tone uses a No Knot tailpiece on that model too. A well built banjo for that price, ideal for outdoor/ street playing music because it was so loud, but lacked a little crisp and warmth in comparison to my Deering Vega. I hoped this helped. Seán
	DublinLongNeck1993 says: 9/18/2026 12:29:20 AM Correction: The Gold tone Tubaphone tone ring is made with brass like the Deering Vegas also, not stainless steel. The rims on the Gold Tones are thinner as well compared to the 3ply rims used by Deering. Seán
	Common Tater says: 9/18/2026 6:23:03 AM I have one but the tone ring makes it heavier than my favorite longneck (which I no longer own): the Ome Grubstake. The Ome had a rolled brass tone ring.
