It has been previously noted that Sebastian Schroeder has published two books on two-finger banjo playing, one on thumb lead and the other on index lead. He has released a third book, this one on mixed lead styles that is on sale at Amazon. The book, which I just downloaded, seems valuable. He explains how best to switch from one style to the other in the same song. In addition, he writes at the end of the book that he is writing a fourth book on more advanced techniques.
Last week, Matt Brown posted about his new two-finger site, and in addition, Josh Turknett of Brainjo has released a series of two-finger instructional videos on Youtube. He is writing a booklet which he says he will send out that goes with these videos. Thus, it seems that interest in this style is growing and new resources are available to anyone who wants to learn.
