Pete Steele's Coal Creek March

From sethswingle on 3/3/2017 2:08:37 AM

Heya,

I posted this over in the "Sound Off" section, but thought I'd post it here, too.  I've been working on Pete Steele's Coal Creek March and finally got a version I like.  Let me know what you think of it!

edit.  hmm, looks like I'm not smart enough to attach a video to this post.  If anyone knows, inform me! and I'll change it.

Hi Seth. I think if Mr Steele heard you playing like that, he'd just turn around and go back over the mountain. It's that good :-)
I hope Art Rosenbaum gets to hear this.

Great! I really like 2-finger. Someday, I'll try it myself. Thanks.

Thanks, Chip. It really means a lot to me that you enjoy my playing. You were the first good 2-finger player I ever heard, as a child camping up by the water tower at Clifftop. The many 2-finger styles are still so under-represented in modern old-time (hah!) playing, and there's so much great material out there. I feel like I'm just getting started :)

And yes, I'd love to get in contact with Art at some point; I'd love to hear what he has to say about N. Georgia index-lead, among other topics.

Very nice, Seth! Now you just have to add Pete's impassioned words in memory of the miners.

Wow! Very nice, thanks for sharing. I'll be chacking out more of your playing.

I just posted my ten-year-old version, then I listened to yours. I was then tempted to delete mine!
