Problem with lock on Stelling case

For the first time ever I put the key into the lock on my Stelling case and noticed that I couldn't make a full turn. Some part of the latch blocked it. The case is supposed to be in new condition.

Not that I need to use the lock, I'm just curious why it doesn't work. Or am I doing something wrong?

	drewbarries says: 5/7/2016 12:37:47 PM Have you tried to spray some lubricant into the lock. I generally use PTF Spray as it's the best for most everything I typically need it for.
	Geoff Stelling says: 5/10/2016 10:13:16 AM I've experienced some reluctance on case locks to respond to turning the key, also. Try turning the key while pulling and pushing on the key. There may be some rough spots that will smooth out with use.

'reluctance to being turned' doesn't really describe it - it simply meets firm resistance at that point. But it's not a big deal because I don't remember locking a banjo case in the last 30 years.
