I am looking at the 1982 Bellflower for sale on the hangout. I was wondering if any of you folks own or have played an older Stelling banjo. I noticed the 3 piece headstock and was wondering about the rim construction and of course sound. I have a 2004 Crusader Deluxe which is a beautiful sounding instrument! Thanks, John

	blgrassbug says: 9/12/2015 2:47:34 PM I have Bellflower#168. Got it from Geoff when the shop was in Spring Valley, I think it was 1978. No problems with construction, other than the finish. '78 was birch, '82 is walnut I think, so there's probably some diff in tone. Mine still sounds amazing.
	Craig_B says: 9/13/2015 3:59:07 AM My Staghorn is an '82. I'm the original owner. I've had zero issues with construction (or finish). It plays great and the sound is incredible - it really barks. Loud and bright, but with a lot of body - not tinny in the least.

	jimrichter says: 10/14/2015 7:49:57 PM I like the old block rims. I'm playing a 76 Bellflower now, but had a 79 Superstar and a couple of other early 80s Stellings. To my ears, it's a lovely sound--especially if you enjoy the Alan Munde melodic banjo sound.
