Hi Guys,

I purchased a Fox new about 3 months ago and I have found that it is tarnishing and pitting in some areas that i don't even touch. I keep it in a warm dry house, sometimes in the green-velvet supplied case and other times I leave it out on a stand. I wipe it down with a soft cotton cloth after each time I play it. At the end of the day it doesn't make any difference to the beautiful sound but I just wondered if you have any recommendations for keeping the lustrous finish lasting as long as possible.

	HSmith says: 6/1/2015 12:13:21 AM Hi Simon I've found that the nickel plating my Sunflower is very prone to tarnishing, even in the moderate climate here in the UK where temperature and humidity are rarely extreme. Like you, I wipe it clean with a cotton cloth after every play. I avoid skin contact with the nickel parts, and always keep it in the case, never on a stand. Whenever I change the head, I polish all the nickel parts with 'Simichrome' . Hope this helps. Regards Harry

I left it out of the case because I have a National guitar that has similar oxidisation (or whatever the cause is)and that only happens when it's in its National supplied case. 	Geoff Stelling says: 6/9/2015 12:49:50 PM Harry and Simon, New cases have the remnants of solvent from the glue that holds the padding inside. It can tarnish nickel parts. Leave the case open to dry air as long as you can to release any bad fumes. Continue the wipe downs after each playing and use Simichrome Polish when the smudges don't come off readily.
