Coordinator rod nut - how tight?

From pjfolino on 1/7/2015 2:45:06 PM

I have a 2013 Staghorn. Wondering how tight the coordination nut (tailpiece side) is when it leaves Geoff. Mine seems to be just tighter than finger - tight. Cheers.

Most probably already know this but Robin Smith stressed with me one time when he had my Timeless banjo in his shop doing a checkup to always tighten the neck side rod first and then the tailpiece side nut/rod last. If not, you can pull the rim out of round when you tighten the neck side nut down.
