Starting over with a fresh nut from Geoff. Despite the fact that they are NOT listed in the parts section of the website, they are available at $40, and sent slightly larger to make sure they will fit snug on any neck out there. Just have to do a little sanding to make it a custom fit for your Stelling. This will put my Masters Cross back to square one, and I won't be wondering if the original nut had been altered before the banjo became mine. It just seemed more difficult to tune than my other 2 - a Gibson ESS and a Deering Tenbrooks Legacy - both with standard nuts but I do use compensated bridges from Steve Davis. They are great if you don't have a compensated nut. I am told "double compensation" is not a good idea so I have some good standard bridges for the Masters Cross.
