Just disassembled my Masters Cross. Taking the neck to my luthier for a nut replacement - coming from Geoff. He will lightly sand for a good fit, as Geoff deliberately makes them a little "fat" to ensure they will fit any neck out there. So I had my first look at the "wedge fit" style of putting the ring on the rim. Pure genius. I am surprised that since Geoff patented this back in the 70's, people could now use this method but I don't know of anyone doing it. I find that rather strange unless they are letting pride get in the way of using a sensible design that seems superior to me.
