Is a Stelling any heavier than any other banjo

I'm thinking of getting a Stelling based on reputation. Never played one. I have a Huber now. I've read that the Stelling is heavier than a Gibson based banjjo.

Is this true or hearsay?

	Geoff Stelling says: 11/4/2013 11:55:36 AM Joe, The newer Stellings of the last few years are about 11.70 pounds. That is very close to the recent Gibsons and many vintage ones. Specifically, I lightened the tone ring and flange in 1979 and 1985 respectively, and the Tony Pass rim is a hair lighter since I incorporated that in 2003. In my opinion, Stellings are now lighter and louder than most other banjos of that style.
