I'm wondering what string gauges are recommended for a '97 Golden Cross. Awesome banjo, Geoff. I absolutely love it. It sounds great, looks beautiful, and is loud as anything. Thanks!

	banjomule says: 4/12/2013 4:38:36 AM I like the Stelling Medium set (10, 12, 14, 22w, 10) or the Stelling Medium Heavy (i think it's 10, 13, 15, 24w, 10)
	5 String says: 4/12/2013 7:07:05 AM Geoff puts Stelling medium-heavy gauge strings on his new banjos unless otherwise requested. I personally use the Stelling medium set...I have used the medium- heavies and they are fine, I just prefer the lighter 4th string with the mediums. You may want to try both and decide for yourself.
	Geoff Stelling says: 4/12/2013 7:48:21 AM I like the sound of the med. heavies (10,12,15,24,10) with my standard set up, but depending on your playing style and set up preferences, you can put any strings on you like. I can't recommend anything lighter than my medium lites with a .013 third, though.
	Geoff Stelling says: 4/12/2013 7:51:14 AM An important detail most people ignore is that the compensated nut shortens the third string and anything lighter than a .013 just doesn't have enough tension on it in my opinion.
