I have a stelling banjo made in 1977 back when Stelling was using 5/8 th bridge height.
I recently started using a newer grover 5/8th bridge and found that the banjo sounded great with these grover bridges. Seems to have made the banjo have more note seperation and better tone. More of that early Alan Munde banjo sandwich tone.
Geoff were these the style of bridges you used when you designed the Stelling banjo's in the beginning?
The snuffys and other boutique bridges do not sound as good as the grover on my banjo. Its a cleaner tone and less ringy.
