Well, I've got to say I should kick myself for leaving my Red Fox in the case for so many years. It's been about a month since I put the new head and bridge on it and it has settled in quite nicely. I play it exclusively now for performances instead of the old TB-1 that I had been using for many years. It has a great voice once again and power to spare when mic'd. If we use a single center stage mic I have to hold it back when backing up and play it further from the mic so it doesn't overpower the mando and guitar. I still use the TB-1 in acoustic jam situations because it has an easier voice and doesn't cut like the Fox does. I hate to have the loudest instrument at a jam because mistakes jump out more and some folks don't take kindly to overly loud banjos. The TB-1 is easier to cover up mistakes on.
When I use the Fox for gigs I never make mistakes. If you believe that then you'll also believe I play as good as Earl. Not!!!!! Maybe as good as Bela??? Dooh!!!
