I have a bellflower made in Feb 1976 number 71 using blonde Japanese birch. Just had the bow and string height reset and the head tuned and it plays as good as ever. The lacquer on the resonator and parts of the neck is crazed but I have been advised to leave it. The stelling bellflower logo on the head of the neck has deteriorated. Any advice on repairing/replacing this. (I live in the UK).

Sorry to hear that these banjos are not being made anymore but ,boy , am I glad I've got one.

	Ralph Stanley legend says: 9/2/2022 12:34:53 AM Hi Anthony, I live in the UK and have a 1979 Superstar. The 1970's Stellings were something special. rare and collectible. There are a number of very capable luthiers here in the UK, I would never post my Stelling but would have to take it myself to a repair person, far too valuable. In the southwest ( looe ) Sim Daley does incredible work but not sure if he is taking anything on currently. Search UK luthiers and put some feelers out. Also, you could try Eagle music... hope that helps and hope to see you and your Stelling sometime. Cheers, Dave.

The finish is a BEAR to remove and should be left unless a competent person knows what to do. i had mine refinished by Geoff before he closed his shop. That was the two year period with the Sherwin Williams topcoat that was faulty.
