About a week and a half ago on May 9 I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Stelling at his shop, where he took the time to show me around. Both he and Mrs. Sherry are great hosts and nice folks. It was probably a once in a lifetime experience for me to meet the master banjo maker in his own workshop and for him to let me play one of his fine banjos. He was working on the "LEWIS" Gospel Junior model while I was there, which was a real treat as well. As he finished stringing it and setting it up he picked an old Lewis Family tune on it, man what a sound!

Anyway I would like to thank Mr. Geoff and Mrs. Sherry for allowing my wife and I to visit while in the area and showing great hospitality.

	Ybanjo says: 5/22/2019 11:08:18 AM They are both super nice folks! My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting them a couple of years ago when we went up there to pick up my new custom Carolinian. The shop was actually closed, but they both met us at the shop and spent a lot of time with us. Even gave us some goat cheese!!

He used my 35 year-old Staghorn to demonstrate setup on once, and leaned hard on the middle of the neck to introduce some relief. I just about had a heart attack. :) Murphy was yelling, "don't worry, Craig - if he breaks it he'll build you a new one!"
