i get so dishearten to hear how everyone is progressing and i have been trying to play for 8 months on the 23rd of oct ,

ive been attempting to learn this banjo since april this year .i still cant get my rolls right and i cant even play "boil them cabbage down" but i can strum a couple easy chord songs as long as they are G,C, D7 still trying to get the real D chord and the real G not the open G.. and everyone wants me to go up the neck --the ******* is all that..im trying to make friends with banjo players in town the one that is willing to play with me cant read music...

	lousymom says: 12/8/2011 5:02:16 AM That's good. I don't get to see my teacher often. I'll have only my second lesson on Saturday, but a teacher gets you pointed in the right direction. As long as you're having fun, it's all good. Are you having fun?
lg9455 says: 12/8/2011 6:18:18 AM key, like lousymom said have fun with it. the banjo is not an easy instrument to learn. the most important thing is that "you" enjoy it. Hey, I have a problem with my fingers being short and stubby which makes it hard for me to make some cords but all this banjo stuff is for my enjoyment so what do I care if a string buzzes or not. It is my fun not anyone elses. Slow and sure is the name of the game. It will come together one of these days and you will have fun in the process. Keep working at it.

	Scott Barnbilly56 says: 12/29/2011 8:10:11 AM If ya need any help on getting going on stuff i may be able to help ya out .If you want to know more about any of this let me know or e-mail me .Real basic stuff would be strumming and singing and adding the chord changes to songs using short chords .This will get ya making songs in some form . Next would be playing just melody notes to songs and not the full rolls and have lots of this stuff i can send ya . The melody notes to boil the cabbage down ect and this get's the melody of songs in your head and can add singing to so your doing whole songs but one note at a time style . The same page stuff also shows rolls for songs with melody notes added for when you start that process . Then i have basic roll to learn and apply to whole songs and get's ya going in that area . Try to pratice all the rolls in your book if you have one because you will use them in future playing later . All this stuff i mentioned is brain programing stuff which will be like breathing after awhile and won't need to even think about . Ok that's a good mouthful for now .
