This is what Scott Zimmerman said about the Scouts Tone Ring.

Its a wonderful ring, as good a prewar formula as any touting to be a prewar formula, and the ONLY ring that is cast using prewar casting methods. I've built custom order banjos where the customer requested this ring, and was extremely satisfied with the banjo. I've had customers with prewar conversions who felt the banjo was better with this ring compared to the boutique ring they paid a lot for
