I don't need another banjo but I couldn't pass this one up. 26.25 scale with a nice cherry neck and a 12 inch spunover rim with 26 hooks The wood in the rim is ebonized so I'm not sure what type of wood it actually is but I sent an e-mail to Bill. I'll do a full review and post/link some pictures later.
What I liked best about this banjo is the sound. I think the Dobson ring kills some overtones but adds a nice sustain somehow at the same time. It's almost like the banjo has some stuffing.
And to my surprise I think the 26.25 scale is a plus. It's easier to cluck on this banjo than on my shorter scale banjos.
It's a fine addition to my herd of banjos and it has been getting a lot of playing time. I am glad I bought it. I had a feeling when I first saw Bill's spunovers I would be buying one eventually.
