I just bought a new RK R80. I have to admit that it didn't sound that great to me right out of the box . I did have to tighten the Gotoh tuners. I then tightened the head "1/4 turn short of break," and it sounds like a totally different banjo! I love it. I tried a medium Moon Bridge, but it raised the string height too much for me. I am not sure that I didn't like the tone better though, but as a new banjo player I couldn't deal with the string height up the neck. Just thought I'd share.
