Ok, I've been playing some harmonica and native flute by ear for many years but this is something new.. I struggled with scruggs style for awhile but switched to clawhammer a few months ago.. I had to build a short scale banjo to compensate for arthritis in my left shoulder but now I'm making some progress.. I started by learning CORN BREAD AND BUTTER BEANS from Mandy's banjo lemonade online and a little OLD JOE CLARK from Cathy Fink online and I've gone to playing by ear from there mostly.. Figured out WILDWOOD FLOWER (mostly) this morning and I've been working on RED RIVER VALLEY and OH SUZANNA and Bethoven's ODE TO JOY and a few others by ear.. It's getting easier and more fun every day.. If I live another 10 years I might get good at this..
