After several years break from playing banjo, I'm trying to work my way back. I play by ear and I don't read music. Tab but not music, Weird, I send and receive morse code, but I can't learn 8 notes---go figure, Anyway, I find playing by ear gives me more latitude to be original. Hope to learn from all of you.I play an OME Columbine and I'm practicing like crazy trying to play again.
