Head tuning wrench for new brass hardware

I took the one that did not fit back and the store had this one that fits. Notice it has a longer, non-tapered barrel and the hex nut on the top for adjusting the handle.

Sometimes those wrenches come with burs inside the hex wrench. It can easily be filed or reemed out to fit the hex nuts perfectly.

What store did you get that one from?

Acoustic Corner, here in Black Mountain. What I can do is see if they have any more like that one. It was just loose in a bag with others and they did not know the brand or type. I have not been able to determine the source using google image search either.

Well, I tried. That was the only one they had like that one. The rest were tapered too much to fit. They said that they probably got it from Elderly or First Quality, but I did not see any like that on those websites. For now it's a mystery.

Well thanks for trying. I'll keep looking.

Harry did you find anything yet?

Stew Mac has them.

I ended up buying a Craftsman deep socket 5/16, and stick an allen wrench in the back so I can turn it...primitive but it works and I could at least install a strap. I'd really like to see Balsam Banjo works come out with one, that would be classy.

It's in the works. We will have a prototype made this spring and hopefully some production later in the year. They will be a true 5/16" wrench and should fit the hardware perfectly.
