I have played the banjo in the past. In the last few months I have started up playing the banjo again. In the past I would have my wife record the tab and then I would learn the tune by working through the recording and listening to the sample tune. Recently I have started with the murphy method dvd's and have found them so helpful. You need to listen is what Murphy says. Also in the past I did not have access to an electronic tuner. Now with my iphone I use "talking tuner" to tune my new Deering Calico banjo. Are there others out there with other hints and techniques I could use?

fI am a want to be musician. I love the process of making music. I am blind and am always looking for instructions that I can use. I had found the Murphymethod when I restarted playing banjo after a 25 year period. I can credit Murphy Henry for bringing me back to my banjo. I have recently added clawhammer to my banjo playing styles. I continue to learn and enjoy the banjo. I have also found Mike Hedding online banjo lessons very helpful.
