Anyone had any experience with the White-Laydie?
I'm getting back into banjo -- my guitar, tenor guitar, mandola are all fun, but I really miss my banjo. Previous banjo was a Wildwood Heirloom with tubaphone tone ring.
Was almost ready to hone in on the Possum or Appalachian, then I heard the Pisgah guy's video of the Custom Whyte-Laydie. Exactly sound I want, I think. Almost a little electric sound built into the mix.
Any comments, or anyone played one? Not sure I'd want the calf skin head. Other than that I think these guys have a really cool take on banjos, and my ancestors go back to their area.
Thanks for any insight. To all you guys who have posted videos -- nice playing, I've enjoyed them all.
