I got my Pisgah Appalachian several weeks ago. What a joy! The craftsmanship is incredible! The sound is incredible! Just what I had hoped for! Setup was simply placing the bridge.
I have played bluegrass banjo for years (not very well) but found myself drawn to old-time music about seven or eight years ago. Love its like to Celtic music. I live in Franklin Co. in Southwestern Virginia. My time to get in my zone each week is playing music at the Roanoke Old-time Jam http://www.facebook.com/pages/Roanoke-Old-Time-Jam/163076193746587?ref=ts&fref=ts every Wednesday night from 6-9 at the Daleville Mill Mt. Coffee and Tea. If your in the area, stop by the jam.
Everyone at the jam was oohing and awhing my new Pisgah banjo. I am still learning to play old-time music. Right now I play rhythmically and unfortunately learned songs by Tab. I am trying very hard to learn to play by ear and hear and play the melody. Slow going!
