This is a 12" custom fretless Pisgah Banjo: maple +walnut (persimmon fretboard), Dobson tone ring, calfskin head, steel strings. #082 and 1 month old. NC inlay.

Beautiful, loud, plunky, bright. Has an amazing tone that's discernable in a group of instruments - the high's are crisp and the bass notes can really ring. The Dobson and calfskin give it an airy yet powerful character.
