Ohh wow thats fantastic...and congrats! I am in Argentina so I will have to be patient and wait until my mom can bring mine in Feb when she comes to visit. If not, maybe I can travel to go pick it up. Please share with us about your Pisgah, what kind of features will yours have? Do you have any pictures from Patrick of your banjo build?

I'm getting the possum model with the persimmon tone ring. I'm so excited!! I don't have any photos yet, Patrick said he'll send me some when it's nearing completion. the baby is due hopefully by the the end of the month. This is going to be my first nice banjo and after a lot of research I decided to go with Pisgah. So far I couldn't be happier with my decision. Patricks been incredibly nice and accommodating. CAN'T WAIT!

I agree and welcome to the fold! I did quite a bit of extensive research on luthiers and always came back to the guys at Pisgah. Patrick has been very helpful and patient with me as well. I think their business and reputations are just going to continue to grow. I like the fact that they are NC luthiers building from NC hardwood. Madison when Patrick sends you some pictures please post them here we would like to see them!

Hi Pisgah people,
I'm only a prospect owner, but wanted to share my excitement. This weekend at the Boone, NC, Old Time Fiddler's Convention I ran into Patrick at the luthiers' gathering there.

He had a new Pisgah banjo on display - the Rambler. It's a 12" silver spunover with a beautiful sound. I'd been in the process of trying out banjos for a while (thanks to Zepp for letting me play his exquisite selection!), zooming in on Ramseys, Rickards and Enochs - and Pisgahs. With either a Dobson, brass or no tone ring.

But this weekend's encounter cinched the deal. The spunover had exactly the right ring and bass to it, with great looks on top. Patrick was very accommodating. It's a big step, the first step up from my Chinese Mastercraft entry model.

The Rambler will have a slightly different look. Not only because of the spunover rim but because fretboard and headstock are black - made of Richlite, so no tree culling involved. Patrick's emphasis on sustainability is something I really appreciate anyway.

Plus: Cherry neck and rim, Dobson heel, black paddle head, no inlay on head or neck, nickel hardware, black buttons on the tuners. Simple to the point of being austere.

The Rambler should be ready by end of April. Can't wait! No pictures yet, but it will look similar to the Rickard and Brooks spunovers - though with Pisgah contours and sound!

Best,

Jasper

Thanks, Erik, I can't wait either!

Patrick will mail me photo's once the build is underway, which I'll post here, but judging by the prototype I had in my hands in Boone and the specs we agreed on (which differ slightly from the prototype) it'll look something like this:

brooksbanjos.com/index.php/gal...gory/C48/
or this:
rickardbanjo.wordpress.com/ban...ver-rims/
or like Ramsey's Amish 12", but then with a spunover pot.

Of course, these are typical Brooks, Rickards and Ramseys, and mine will be a genuine Pisgah. But you get the drift.

Will keep you posted!
