I recently bought a Nechville Zeus, which I'm really enjoying (with both wood and metal tone rings - love the lightness of the former and the volume of the latter!) - I have a set of 4 keith d-tuners on another banjo that I plan on selling... Would those tuners go on the Zeus, or is it not feasible? I realise it might look a bit odd vs. the guitar tuners, but I miss the opportunity to play stuff with the tuners...

If not, are there any d-tuner solutions for this type of headstock?

	LeonEvans says: 8/13/2016 9:37:57 AM I have a Phantom that I put four Keith D-Tuners and one of the standard Keith tuners and it works fine. The thing to keep in mind for the Zeus is the first, second and third string tuners are in a line which means learning a new way to move between them when using the tuners in a song. Other than that, I don't see a problem. You could always send a note to Tom or Al at Nechville if you have further concerns. One other item to keep in mind is the guitar tuners have a screw holding them into the peg head and you either live with the remaining holes or have them filled and the finish touched up. Would be a shame considering how nice the finish is on it at the moment (though I'm not that precious, I could live with it!)
	LeonEvans says: 8/15/2016 9:48:26 AM One way to fill the holes is to use round tooth picks. Dip the ends in white glue and insert the toothpick in the hole and clip off the excess. Depending on the color of the back of the peg head, use a brown marker or sharpie to stain the end grain of the tooth pick to make it match. Then put a small spot of medium viscosity superglue over the toothpick end to seal the finish. Of course you should let everything dry between the various steps of inserting the toothpick, staining, and superglue. Again, you could check with Tom at Nechville to get his take on this. I've visited his shop a couple of times and the folks at Nechville are outstanding. I've also met Al Price, Nechville's Sales Manager, and he's right up there with Tom and the rest of the crew.
