This is for the Nechville guys. I just purchased one of your Athena banjos. I have a good Bluegras banjo so I want to mellow out the tone on the Athena for other than Bluegrass. I have a drum dial, what head pressure setting should I use to start with. Also, what other things should I change to mellow out the tone... Phil

	Guy says: 12/6/2015 5:25:11 AM I hate to suggest this but maybe a different head, I use a renaissance head on mine and I get a lovely mellow tone. You can slacken the head and I'm no expert but I'm not sure it would be the best way. You may end up losing some of the wonderful dynamics. Most people seem to tune to G#. By the way, now you've go a Nechville, changing the head only need take 10 minutes :-) The other thing to consider would be a heavier bridge. If you contact Nechville they may be able to send one or two out to you on sale or return...
	pjgent says: 12/6/2015 5:20:19 PM Thanks for the response. I would certainly consider a head change, but the Athena already comes with a Remo Renaissance head. It still has some very sharp highs that I would like to tame a little without dulling the up the neck response.
