Several years ago I bought a Nechville Phantom 5 string and have loved playing it ever since. The tone is just exactly what my solo playing needs. Since I also play tenor banjo, I wanted and found a Nechville tenor neck so I could have the best of both worlds. Only one at a time.
I was going back and forth playing either 5 string or 4 string, sometimes both in the same show even but I eventually just kept the tenor neck on and use something else for my 5 string playing. I do miss the Nechville 5 string sound though.....
Anyway, here are a couple of videos of me playing the Nechville tenor. It is a fantastic tenor banjo.
