Please chime in.

This post was interesting, Tim Foster went out on a limb and bought a Nechville. Wondering if any of you have had similar experiences and can chime in? All the Best, Tom

I had similar assumptions about the sound. I played one some months back, and absolutely loved the neck and playing it. After watching the setup and ring comparison videos I hoped I we could coax more traditional tone out of it. Mine came with the bronze tone ring, a lighter bridge, and fairly tight head. It has that chime I was looking for, and more low end growl than I expected. I could not be happier with the way it play, sound, or looks.

I've had my Nechville for about 15 years now. I needed to get a professional standard banjo as I was starting to take the banjo seriously and was frustrated with the second hand instrument I'd bought.
I knew I needed to spend some serious money so I also needed to think very carefully about this purchase. I went to festivals and other events and tried as many banjos as I could.
I ended up at Sore Fingers and met Lluis Gomez who was playing a mahogany Nechville Vintage. I tried it and immediately fell in love with it but still needed convincing. That week I had to listen to Noam Pikelny playing a mahogany Nechville Nextar. Bliss! One the world's most awesome banjo pickers playing an awesome banjo.
I fell in love with the musical tones from these instruments and the fabulous playability.
Back at home I found myself dreaming about Nechville banjos. The choice was inevitable.
15 years on, I have never wanted for another banjo. I cannot imagine another banjo that will give me the range of tones and moods I can get from this machine. From sparkly bluegrass to warm subtle tones that you could happily play a lullaby on.
Why would you want to go for just one sound when you can have so many?
Hope this helps, Guy ??

Thanks Guy! Would you post that on the forum thread?
