I have a Venetian Green Nextar I bought from Gruhn in 2008. I saw it first in Grubbs a few years earlier and absolutely fell in love with it. My wife told me to buy it but I didn't since I had a few banjos and couldn't justify the purchase in my mind. When we got home from Nashville I regretted not buying it and went on line, when you guessed it, it was just sold.
I was in line browsing Gruhn's website years later in 2008 and there was what looked like the same banjo. This time I jumped on the purchase. Gruhnntold me it was on consignment from the estate of Songwiter Paul Craft. I have had it ever since. Now that I am 75 I really appreciate the lightness of it compared to a Gibson style banjo ( including my Stealth). I have an 11/16 Scorpion bridge and a G# head tension with JD Crowe PF 140's. To my ears perfect bluegrass set up. Anyone out there ever seen a Nextar in this color or have one? I've seen it in purple but never green.
happy to see Billy Strings' fabulous banjo player rocking a Nechville.
