I haven’t been this giddy since I don’t know when... the birth of my first born child maybe? I got a ridiculous deal (and partial trade) on an incredible Nechville banjo, I’m a tenor banjo player from Chicago I play mainly Irish traditional music, some ragtime and Oldtime too, I’ve been dreaming of owning a Nechville tenor for years, ever since I saw Toms mobile banjo shop pull up infront of a local bar on the southside of Chicago, I was 21 and couldn’t afford any of them, and my abilities at the time didn’t really warrant a high end banjo. But I’m a bit older now a bit more accomplished as a player and ready to step it up, I was in the process of designing a custom Nechville when this one basically fell into my lap. It’s a tenor version of the Diamond Joe model, that a nice guy just had made for him in March, long story short he has to thin down his collection and I’ve lucked out. Ive been a bystander to the banjo revolution for a while, excited to have part in it now, and very much looking forward to getting to know this machine.
