Longnecks are a tough sell lately (speaking from experience, as my Fawley/tubaphone took 375 days to sell on BHO for a much lower price than I expected.)

Wes...meaning too high or too low? Yes, wondering, too.

Mr. Bill... way too low A Boston made pot with a tubaphone ring alone is worth 15-hunded if it's in fair condition. There's an original on Ebay for about 1700 and that too is low. The last ones I saw for sale were in the 3,000-4,000 range. Maybe demand now is so low that 15-hundred is a reasonable price.

Nice instrument for $1500 if it were checked out... Unfortuantely, it is in Idaho...

I don't think this instrument was underpriced. I can't evaluate the tone ring, but Vega did tamper with the original tube-a-phone design. This pot is very shallow -- the brackets stick out, looking for sweaters to hook on to. The shoes are bolted through the pot and not fastened to the bracket band, which is purely decorative. Co-ordinator rods have replaced the dowel stick. This was a low-cost long-neck for a burgeoning market. If the buyer loves the sound and enjoys playing the instrument, then it's worth whatever s/he paid.
