Face it, many of us are approaching late middle age (say 60+) and our hands and fingers and shoulders are getting creaky as our short term memory. So here's a workaround: 1. Play only stuff that's short and simple on the low frets. 2. Play the harder stuff with the capo on the 5th fret instead of the third. Anyone listening will be impressed with the low sound of the open strings and equally impressed with the new wear marks you'll be putting on the upper frets. 3. Your fingers will thank you for using 9 gauge strings and no one will hear the difference.

They're all fine. The slower, the better. Easier to steal.

Banjo, guitar, 12-string guitar and autoharp: a life-long quest. Radio broadcaster, TV writer. Bounce between New York City and central Pennsylvania. Too lazy to jam.
