Thought folks might be interested to see the article, "Seeger Long Neck: America's Third Banjo" which I submitted to Banjo Newsletter two weeks before Pete Seeger died and the editor, Donald Nitchie, agreed to include in this month's Seeger cover tribute edition, just out. Donald kindly agreed to let me post the following link on this bog so that those who are interested can see the article without having to be a subscriber to BNL. I hope I have done right by the long neck world.

Like OK the US companies made longnecks in the 60's, but why did the West German Framus company start making them? - my first real banjo (after a potmetal aisian one) in 1969 was a Framus longneck - and I still have one.
	wesrichards says: 4/21/2014 7:01:35 PM @cleitus West German musical instrument makers were pretty in tune with American pop and folk trends in those days. Hofner basses, Framus banjos and 12 string guitars. And the West Germans were more sympathetic to left handed players than a lot of US companies.
