Very interesting longneck at Elderly's

From Pauls Pretty Good Stuff on 9/25/2013 9:21:48 AM

If I didn't have too many longnecks, I'd buy this one.  Their wood tone rings are great sounding.

at first, I thought it was a mistake...Black Diamond...but then , I saw the tone ring.
I'm still in depression after my Ode fiasco so I'll just admire it.

It's listed as having a bracket band which is just the tube of their TPF. We had a Hartford for a time and I loved the sound of that grenadillo tonering.

I have a Deering Maple Blossom 6 string banjo with a Hartford wood tone ring. When Deering says those things improve with age they aren't kidding. Mine's about 15 years old and boy does that thing sing! And loud like you wouldn't believe.

By the headstock logo on the Elderly site, I'd say this is a few years old, too. The Sierra was only available with a mahogany pot when this was made though they now offer it in maple, too. The Black Diamond was maple from the start. Frankly, I can't hear a difference/

OPF one piece flange, usually pot metal

TPF two piece flange, usually nickel plated brass sheet.
