I have an RB 250 that went through a flood. The resonator is a wreck, the crummy eck finish has rubbed off unevenly. The pot is pristine. So I'm wondering if anyone makes a compatible long neck I can install. If I remove the flange and the existing neck I'd have a nice gibson long neck with an arch top Mastertone ring. And I'd be the only kid on the block with one of them. Anyone know anything about that? Thanks. Wes

	R.D. Eno says: 6/12/2017 9:11:07 PM Wes, there are scores of banjo luthiers who can make you a custom neck. Even if you find a factory-made or big-brand neck, you'll still have to take it to a luthier for mounting and set-up. You can find a listing of banjo luthiers at 4allmusic.com, or just ask this list for recommendations.
	John Gribble says: 6/13/2017 4:01:25 AM Like he said, there are a number of people who would make a longneck neck for you, many of whom are active or written about on the Hangout. But I wouldn't write off restoring the instrument. Refinishing the neck is not that big a deal and there are people here who can even "re-skin" your resonator. I would consider restoring what you have before doing the longneck conversion. Your RB 250 is probably worth more fixed than it would be as a "parts banjo" conversion.
