ive been taking lessons since about april this year.. ive always loved the banjo.just never had the guts to try..so now that im disabled /unable to work- i got nothing better to do then learn the banjo .. ive come a long way since i first got this thing , at least i can strum a couple of easy chord songs wish i could get my rolls down tho .. have trouble hitting the right string.. im a bit old but i still get mad when i cant do it right .. so offer your advice and ill use it .. i am learning bluegrass style ..

	zimpick75 says: 12/9/2011 6:25:58 PM If I feel myself getting mad I take a minute to remember I am doing this for fun! I even yell at my fingers! Talk out loud and call out the strings. 321 321 51 etc. Its all about muscle memory. Don't get discouraged everybody sucks at first(at least that's what I tell myself!)

	somethingaboutgrace says: 12/13/2011 8:26:43 PM I just started playing this week and what you mentioned (saying out loud 321, 321, etc) has been the secret for me. My husband taught me the beginning of Amazing Grace and I can practice without him just by remembering the string numbers. We all have to remember that we are starting a new hobby...like learning a new language. It takes a lot of practice and patience. If patience is hard for you (hehe), try to take a 2 minute break and just concentrate on breathing. It will calm you. :)
