I recently acquired my first gourd and wondering about a good location for a strap button. I see some buttons attached to the gourd, others to the neck. I've tried wrapping around the neck joint, but the head keeps angling down. I want to avoid attaching to the headstock.

	StuRadley says: 9/13/2022 7:28:14 PM Weight distribution is your enemy here. Depends on the size and shape of your gourd, but ultimately the nature of gourd banjos is that the majority of the weight is in the neck. I tied a strap around mine that went underneath the strings on the headstock to avoid putting a peg in it. You could try using some string and duct tape to test out different locations before committing as well.
