I had a 1978 RB250 a while back that I sure wish I had back. I let it go because of all the hype about how bad they were in the 70's. I've had a couple good Gibson's before and after that one, and picked some others, but none compared to it. It was all original also. Does anyone else have or have had a 70's they felt the same about? Was the one I had just an exception to the quality of the 70's or is it all in my mind.

	myork1 says: 9/1/2013 5:22:12 AM Ted, Believe THE BANJO...not the hype. I heard the same when I was about to get my first Gibson, an early 70s (73/74) RB250. But I've had pre-war experts and good players talk about what a great banjo it is. Good slim neck, volume, etc. I've really enjoyed that banjo and so glad I didn't pass on it. I think it's only in your mind, when you're playing the banjo. That's what it's about right? When you can hear it, feel it, and maybe can't explain it to anyone who thinks and feels differently. Lots of opinions out there, and lots of banjos...but I think you know it when you play it. I got mine from the original owner and it had been well-played over the years. He had lots of pics where he'd played on stage, etc. It's a great banjo!

Of course will probably make more bad decisions before I get too old to play. I have a clone now and like it pretty good until I hear someone elses.
	Bill Barker says: 9/1/2013 1:40:46 PM I have a RB250 that is 1971 or very close to it with original parts. I love it. You just can't beat the sound. I plan to keep mine and pass down to my daughter. Mine has been played on the Grand Ole Opry, by the original owner. I go by this saying: If it is not a Gibson it is not bluegrass. Hope you get another one someday!
	Randy Waller says: 4/28/2014 9:55:32 AM Bought my '79 250 in 1985 and still play it. Tune it and the next day still in tune. Can't beat that and love the loud strong sound.

	edpottenger says: 1/28/2015 7:22:52 PM My first good banjo was a 1975 RB250. I sold it to pay some medical bills we accrued as young parents. I recently picked up one that is the same year and I absolutely love it! I've played a lot of banjos that were rated as better and some that were way more expensive but I really love the sound and feel!
