Hey guys I am thinking about trying some new tone Rings in my 07 Granada and was wondering if any of you guys have tried any different rings in ya'lls Gibsons and what results you got. I am wanting to mellow it out a little bit. It seems like the older it gets the brighter the tone gets. I just recently bought a Huber Jim Mills model with the HR30 ring and it has changed my taste in tone. I have always loved my Granada but since I got the mahogany banjo I find myself not playing my maple banjos as often so thought I would experiment a little bit and try to get it to mellow out a little without losing the volume and pop you get with maple. I really want to try the HR30 but 800 bucks is a lot of money to spend to just try something new out. Anyways any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Judd4 Comments | |
