I have a really bad case of BAS: Good time Tenbrooks GE Hartford. Can't seems to sell anything after I buy. It's a disease.

Still have my first banjo I got in '73- a 1909 Whyte Laydie, ha, thought was just a cheap old banjo then. Last year we found her bench mate, a '1909 Regent one serial #away and we strung him with nylon, they sound pretty cool together. Others...open back Doc's banjo #164 (Patrick Huff Dallas OR.) 1885 Fairbanks and Cole fretless open back 2010(?) Open back fretless by Christian Stanfield Memphis Tenn One lone Deering, 2008 Calico and she says she's all the resonator banjo I'll ever need :)

I have a Deering Vega Olde Tyme Wonder with 12" pot and a Deering Goodtime Americana. BAS has struck again... I'm seriously considering the purchase of a Goodtime Parlor banjo in the next month or so. I've been told the Deering Parlor Banjo has the same neck as the Deering 19 fret tenor but with a 5th string added so, IMHO, if I get one it counts as two banjos - at least as far as this thread is concerned...

First was a GT2, in 2004 (still have it), a Terry Baucom and Crossfire have come and gone (loved 'em both and hated to part w/them), Finally added a custom Calico in 2014 that I'll never let go of! Just AMAZING banjos-- LOVE em!

First was a GT2, in 2002 (still have it), a Terry Baucom and Crossfire have come and gone (loved 'em both and hated to part w/them), Finally added a custom Calico in 2014 (that caused me to sell my pre-war TB1 conversion) that I'll never let go of! Just AMAZING banjos-- LOVE em!

I'm down to a late model Deluxe, and a late model Goodtime 2. At one time I had 5. The Deluxe, 2 newer Goodtime 2s, one Goodtime Gumby w/resonator, and a Goodtime Gumby open back. Didn't care for the gumby-style headstock. Glad Deering upgraded it. Wouldn't mind having a Goodtime Classic........

I have a terrible case of BAS, and I'm really not much of a player. Nevertheless, I have a Sierra, a Hartford, a Deering Vega No. 2 and a Black Diamond open back. The latter three all bought used. Sad thing is, I still look at the classifieds several times a week to see what might be interesting.

Wow! You all make me feel so much better. I thought it was just my problem to want more than one banjo. To try and find that one banjo that is perfect in every way! Iv'e bought and sold and kept'em.......and just bought again today (Vega Old Tyme Wonder 12 inch pot). I seriously thought I should consult with a professional. I don't have to now. Thanks for all the posts. No money to shrink, instead for my banjo's!

Bought my first Deering sight unseen, a previously owned Black Diamond, then of course needed one for my other office so I bought a Goodtime Special. And I guess when the bug bites hard you might as well surrender, so I was lucky enough to find a Tenbrooks Legacy Custom Black Walnut tenderly used and in pristine condition. That one came home to my wife's chagrin! They are all truly different yet equally wonderful expressive instruments. I'm blessed to have them.
